MIAT Ghent
The MIAT - Museum of Industrial Archaeology and Textile - is a historical museum covering the period from 1750 until today.
The visitor discovers hands-on how our ancestors worked and lived. Much attention is paid to textile, for years the most important industry in Flanders. Women's position, too, is given much focus. On the top floor, the MIAT offers an excellent and unusual view of the city of Ghent. Since 1999 the museum has been awarded the status of "recognised" museum.
The automatization project for the MIAT Ghent was realized in collaboration with the company WhiteLight:www.whitelight.be
